Fortunately, I have already tried out a lot of different epilators, and I am more than willing to share to y’all my findings about the pros and cons of each epilator so you can decide for yourself which one you are going to invest in.

Note, however, that I may be impartial in describing these epilators, but it does not mean that my experience will be the same as yours. Remember that we have different skin types and preferences, so you must rely on your better judgement as well. Here you go with the comparisons.

Top 5 Best Epilators 2016

1. Braun Silk-épil 9 Wet & Dry Cordless Electric Epilator, Shaver, and Bikini Trimmer

This is the latest and greatest from Braun, and we love this one. Some of the Pros: The Braun Silk Epil 9 is similar to the Epil 7, which is one of our favorites. The Epil 9 incorporates the many great features we’ve come to expect, the close-grip tweezers and the ergonomic design. It can be used wet or dry, and comes with some convenient attachments.

Some of the Cons are: Being cordless is convenient, but be sure you charge it up before use else you could run out of battery while in the middle of use in the shower, not good! If price is an issue for you, check out the many alternatives we’ve reviewed.

2. Braun 7681 Silk-Epil 7 Xpressive Pro Epilator

This is a professional epilator – I have even seen this being used in salons. I got curious, so I tried it out. I must say, this is one expensive epilator. But you could clearly see once you try it that it is just priced right. 40 tweezers are being optimized for this epilator, and it grips closely to the skin so unwanted hair could be uprooted instead of simply removing the top of the hairs. Even the finest and shortest hairs could be taken care of by this amazing epilator.

But the best thing I like about this epilator is its pivoting head that allows the epilator to tightly hug the contours of your body, making way for a really comfortable experience while epilating. The epilator is also fully washable, so maximum hygiene could be expected, and it offers two speed options. The slower speed is for those who have not yet tried epilation before and need a few sessions to get the hang of it. It is also used for sensitive areas of the body. You can, however, opt for the faster setting if you are confident and skilled! 3. Emjoi AP-18 Epilator

I have to concede that the Emoji AP-18 is way too powerful for my own liking. However, majority of my friends use this epilator and I can also see why. See, when I tried using this; I was able to finish epilating my legs in a matter of minutes, and then it did an excellent job. Instead of simply cutting of the hair at skin level, the epilator actually uproots the hair and therefore it leaves the skin flawless and also without the scratchy feel brought about by leftover small hairs commonly associated with less powerful epilators. It also can be used by men and it was recently featured on our epilator for men guide.

The power of this epilator comes from the fact that it utilizes 72 tweezers that work on the skin all together. This is also the reason why the epilator is too powerful for me. Sure, the number of tweezers with this epilator is enough to deliver a powerful epilation in a matter of a few minutes, but I’d rather take my time epilating since I have a really low tolerance for pain, so I regretfully let go of this model even though it is the most efficient I have ever tried. If you can bear the pain, go for it! Read epilator pros and cons and it will tell you why a epilator is ideal for grooming, this this one and will be a hit for best epilator of 2015 for sure.

4. Braun Silk Epil 3

Now, the Braun Silk Epil 3 may just well be the exact opposite of the one that succeeded it in this list of recommended epilators. Again, I will be upfront in saying that I am not sure you would like this one, but for me it is perfect. The reason why I think you would not be fond of this unit is that it actually does a slow job at epilating, because it only has 20 tweezers. This is a small number compared to that of the previous entry to this list. However, since I have previously mentioned my low pain tolerance, I think this is just right.

Furthermore, the technology of this model involves a stimulation of the comforting feeling of a massage. So, not only does it provide epilation with less pain dealt, it actually comforts the skin, making hair removal an enjoyable process. The downside of this is that it takes time, which I don’t personally mind. Sometimes you have to work on one area of your body for an extended period of time because 20 tweezers will not be enough to get all the unwanted hair in a matter of seconds. I like it, though! This epilator also featured on our list of top 5 Braun epilator reviews and it also features on our best epilator 2015 guide.

5. Philips HP6401 Satinelle Epilator

The Philips HP6401 Satinelle Epilator is one of the most affordable epilators out there, and it is perfectly understandable why it would not have most of the luxurious attachments available with other epilators. However, for the most basic functions of an epilator, this one works perfectly! The best thing about this epilator would be its ergonomic handle that allows any user to avoid the pains of having cuts brought about by epilators that are hard to grip. Since this one fits perfectly in the palm of your hand, it is unlikely that it will slip and you will get wounded.

One drawback to this epilator, is that it cannot be operated wireless which is a bummer. If you do not travel a lot and you do all your hair removal at home, then this would not be a problem. You can still enjoy the comfortable sensation that this epilator brings. I would also like to commend the brand’s effort as far as hygiene go. The epilator comes with cleaning materials necessary to keep it in its top and most hygienic state. Its efficiency cap also allows you to work with larger skin areas at any given time. Two thumbs up at this! And so it had to be featured on our best epilator 2015 guide.

Why buy only the best epilator?

  • The procedure is quick and neat: I am not a fan of waxing, because going to waxing centers means that you have to set appointments earlier, and more often than not, you will still end up waiting to be treated after a number of people. There is an option to have your waxing sessions at home, but there are a lot of materials needed and it could get messy. As for disposable razors, a good three hours would be burned if you were to cover shaving your whole body. Epilators provide the quickest hair removal procedures at forty-five minutes average to cover the whole body.
  • Epilators are cheaper in the long run: Sure, buying disposable razors or signing up for waxing centers may be more affordable than purchasing an epilator, but remember that with good care and maximum hygiene, an epilator can be a lifetime investment. So, you end up spending less than what is needed for a lifetime of replacing disposable razor after disposable razor or going back again and again to waxing centers.
  • Epilators provide options: Epilators range from being very cheap to being quite expensive, depending on the features and specs. All you have to do is settle on the features you like in relation to your budget in order to find an epilator that best suits your needs. With epilators, you always have the choice: corded or cordless, tweezers as scanty as 9 to as many as 72, battery-operated or rechargeable, and so on. I am sure you can find an epilator that is just perfect for you – as if you yourself personalized and customized it according to your taste.
  • Epilators are very safe on skin: Most epilators have attachments and features that ensure your safety by allowing you to avoid nicks and cuts. These skin irritations and blemishes are very common when you do shaving using disposable razors or when you use hard wax that has all these strong chemicals. Epilators do not use strong chemicals, and you can even find some units that have hypoallergenic blades and tweezers that are nickel-free. You just have to make sure that your unit is fully optimized by always keeping them clean and storing them in a cool and dry place.

At the end of the day, it all comes down to your preference. No epilator is dominant above all the others, unless it fits all your needs. The pros and cons in this list are pretty accurate, but you still have to try it out for yourself! Good luck with finding your best epilator of 2016.
