Epilation is not an easy ordeal, but I have grown to accept that it is an inevitable part of growing up as a girl with rather coarse body hair. So, to everyone out there like me thinking what is the best epilator? I hope you take the time to read through this post so I could help you embark in this new and challenging journey to the removal of your unwanted facial and body hair. Let me start with showing the steps on how to epilate, followed by my top recommended epilators.
The Epilation process
Exfoliate: I cannot stress this enough. Most post-epilation problems such as redness, bumps, and other skin irritations stem from skipping the part when you are supposed to exfoliate. Just trust me. Take the time to exfoliate.
Invest in a good epilator: This is one of those moments when you shouldn’t be prioritizing your savings. Remember, this is skin care we’re talking about. We all deserve the best, after all. Not to worry, though; later, I will be recommending my top bets for the best epilator.
When to epilate: If you have the option, do your epilation while or right after you shower. This is the time when skin is most softened and hair would easily be uprooted.
Slow and steady: Work slowly, especially on your first few sessions. Read the manual carefully since different epilators have different operating mechanics. Take the time to read and learn first.
This is a bit more affordable than the first recommendation, but that is just because the Philips HP6401 Satinelle Epilator features less attachments and add-ons. However, I can vouch that this is one of the best epilators out there as far as the basic functions of an epilator goes. I love how when using the HP6401, you can actually choose between two speed settings. I realize that the slower speed setting is designed for those who are new to the epilation scene and for those who are working on the delicate areas of their body. On the other hand, the faster setting is for those who have already gotten the hang of epilation.
I always feel comfortable when holding the Phillips, and that is because it is specifically designed to have an ergonomic grip, ensuring that you will not lose grip and hurt yourself while in the process of epilation. This is also one of the gentler epilators, which is because it sports an efficiency cap that ensures efficient yet gentle hair removal especially on the sensitive areas of the body like the underarms. The epilator head in this one is also removable and ergo, washable.
You have to take note that the power (and pain levels) of an epilator is mostly relative to the number of tweezers present in it. On average, epilators have 40-50 tweezers. With that, you could just imply that the Emjoi AP-18 is actually off-the-charts powerful with its 72 tweezers working together. This means that you can have the most efficient epilation sessions with this, but you have to power through the pain. I can only stand it when I apply numbing cream beforehand, but I do not shy away from the pain because the quality of hair removal dealt by the Emjoi AP-18 is truly impressive.
You would further be impressed to find out that the Emjoi AP-18 is actually the first ever epilator to introduce Silver Ion Technology that provides antimicrobial protection. I am just in love with this technology because it ensures me that the epilator is very safe to use on my skin even though I have always had the most sensitive skin all around. I would also like to share that this may just be the most user-friendly epilator I have ever encountered in all my years!
The Panasonic ES-WD51-P is my travel epilator because it operates cordless. See, people like me who are always out of town may it be for personal or for business reasons, we have grown to love cordless gadgets because there is no guarantee that there will be direct power source where we’re going. So, back to the Panasonic ES-WD51-P Ladies Wet/Dry Epilator – I love it also because it is gentle on my sensitive skin for all its blades are nickel-free and hypoallergenic. Also one of the reasons why I love the Panasonic ES-WD51-P is because I find it very gentle; I do not even need to apply numbing cream when this is the epilator available.
Note that this is a wet and dry epilator, and you know my philosophy: Never do your epilation outside the shower when you can do it inside! This makes epilation with the Panasonic ES-WD51-P all the more gentle, and I am sure you would be thankful for this when it comes to a point when you have your period but you still need to epilate. Ouch! My recommendation for those instances is that you pair the Panasonic ES-WD51-P with foam and gel! It makes it on our list as one of the the best epilator for the money.
There are more affordable epilators out there compared to the Braun Silk Epil Se7921spa, but I have come to the understanding based on experience that this is every bit as deserving and worthy of its price, so I will not think twice on advising you to also invest in this particular model. Personally, I like it because it works perfectly inside the shower. I like epilating inside the shower while taking a bath because it provides the most comfortable experience in epilation. You should also find the pivoting head such a big help, because it tightly hugs the curves of your body, thus allowing you to avoid nicks and cuts whilst epilating.
I also think you would be thankful for the presence of a Smartlight in the Braun Silk Epil Se7921spa. The Smartlight actually provides illuminance to the body area you are looking for. Illuminating the skin also highlights the body hair, allowing you to easily see the hairs that you would want to get rid of, so you can do so efficiently and without hassle. Oh, and did I mention that the Braun Silk Epil Se7921spa also has an automated exfoliation technology! Yup, I know.
You know how some gadgets and stuff make you feel like they “just get you?” Well, that is just how I feel whenever I use the Remington EP6025. Its design and the way it was put together is obviously done with the comfort and convenience of the user in mind. The 42 close-grip tweezers are perfect for me since they are neither too gentle nor too overwhelming. There are also two speed settings in this one, allowing for better and easier maneuverability. Make sure you know how to alternate between the two speeds before you begin! Read up on the manual.
It helps that the Remington EP6025 can operate both corded and cordless. It is perfect for travelling bodies because we are never sure if the place we are headed to have direct power sources or if it is easier to score batteries. And to seal the deal for moving bodies, the Remington EP6025 also comes with this really cute but sleek travel pouch. It is everything a traveler wants for her health kit! There is even an attachment for a free facial epilator! Wow, the Remington EP6025 is truly worth every penny, it is one the best epilator in the market.
